Hi Carlene,

The developer's agent has shown us plans that show an improvement in impervious area ratio at 816 White St from 92% to 84% which is much higher than the required ratio of 60%.

The old, non-compliant building additions, without setbacks, need to be removed to comply with regulations but that action probably will not be offered.

We still agree with the Planning Board that this variance request is without merit.  Indeed, it would provide a hardship to us when our property value is lowered due to eventually suffering the commotion of having a commercial swimming pool on the other side of our fence.

Good afternoon.

Sorry for the late response, I was out of town last week.  I forwarded your message to the planner working on this project. I will have him contact you to address your questions.

Hi Carlene,
Quick question, will I have another opportunity to object to a swimming pool being dug on said property with all the party noise it creates?

I guess I'm asking; will there be another variance hearing for the pool itself, should this permeability variance be granted?

much thanx,
Allen Meece

Subject: Variance 816 White St neighbor comments

Hello, Planner!

I live at 807 Ashe St and abut the subject property. I request the variance RE#00022250-000000 be denied due to the fact that my back yard and those of the four houses on both sides of mine will be flooded even worse when it rains heavily. That would deny me the use of my patio located on ground level.

There is a paved parking lot behind my house and beside 816 White St which is elevated six inches higher than the Ashe Street back yards and the parking lot drains runoff water into our yards already. The "Jose's Cantina" commercial building on the west side of the parking lot already  has no permeable surface area and contributes to our flooding.

The 816 White St building was originally a single family residence which has had non-conforming additions to its east side and front without proper setback and also an extension to the rear to the point is has long gone over its acceptable permeable area ratio.

Thanks for your consideration,

Allen Meece
